G.I. Bill Benefit Information For New Recruits
We have been approved as a Post-9/11 GI Bill On-the-Job Training Program. This program begins on the day you start the pre-academy and runs until you are off probation as a Deputy Sheriff (18 months).
If you had at least 90 days of active duty service after Sept. 10, 2001, and are still on active duty, or if you are an honorably discharged Veteran or were discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days, you may be eligible for this VA-administered program. The Post-9/11 GI Bill provides up to 36 months of education/on-the-job training benefits. The benefit can vary, but it can be as much as $2000 per month of additional income while you are in the Academy and on training at your first assignment.
If you are interested, please contact Donna Smith at 654-2848 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. She can explain the benefits further and will submit all of the necessary paperwork for you.
You will need to provide your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the VA.
